This quote is what inspired my piece ‘Gatekeepers’. A homage to Peig Sayers, an Irish author and seanchai; a traditional Irish storyteller and custodian of history, lore and cultural heritage. Peig contributed stories to the National Folklore Collection which is an archive created to collect, preserve and disseminate the oral traditions of Ireland.
